Book in for your flu vaccination

With winter on our doorstep, now is the perfect time for you and your whānau to get the flu vaccine.

Getting the flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself against serious illness and stay healthy throughout the flu season. Getting immunised is important as it not only helps to protect your own health, but also limits the spread of the virus to your friends, whānau, and community.

The flu vaccine is FREE for people who are considered more likely to get seriously sick with the flu. This covers children aged 6 months to 12 years, Māori and Pacific people aged 55+, all people aged 65+, pregnant people, and those with some underlying health conditions. To check out eligibility, click here.

If you don’t qualify for a free vaccine, remember that the flu vaccine is still available to you.

The flu can be caught anywhere and is commonly spread through talking, coughing, and sneezing. You still catch influenza after immunisation, but your symptoms are less likely to be severe.

Some of the common symptoms of influenza include:

· fever

· cough

· sore throat

· runny or stuffy nose

· muscle or body aches

· headaches

· fatigue (tiredness).

We are running both booked appointments as well as walk-ins. To book in for your flu vaccine, contact our friendly team at reception.
